Repost from Katzenworld (Cats in Boxes)

Katzenworld

What is it with cats and cardboard boxes? We used to have the occasional delivery and as a treat we would let the cats play with the empty box for a couple of days. Lately there have been more deliveries, so I piled several in a heap in the dining room and let them get […]

In the Can: Wet Food Feeding Guidelines

Katzenworld

Hi everyone,

Today we’ve once again teamed up with our friends from petco to provide you with another one of their infographic series.

Cat lovers would do almost anything for their pets. They buy them special toys—even houses. They get them regular care at a favorite veterinarian. Scratching towers? Check. They find snuggle-friendly beds so their felines can rest in preferred spots.

The same consideration comes when owners consider what food to buy for their pets—and what wet food would be best for their cat’s health and well-being. That’s because not all wet food is the same—it differs in texture and flavor, among other things.

Some people like the convenience of dry food—they can put it out, leave it, and not worry about when or if their cat is going to eat. Wet food is different: It cannot be left out all day for a variety of reasons. For starters, it…

Angel (Pittie) in Need of Foster or Adopter in Gardena, CA

This was posted by Pam Cavins on behalf of the Saving Carson Shelter Dogs on the CA – Rescue, Foster & Adoption Network © Facebook group: This will be the saddest thing you see all day. It’s sad that after 10 years of what looks like complete neglect of a treatable and irritating skin condition, they not only gave her the name angel but they left her at the Shelter when they moved. She deserves to know real Love and CARE and this special senior needs help NOW!

Please SHARE for her life, she needs a TEMPERAMENT TEST requested IN PERSON by an Interested Party before the Shelter will allow her to be saved. Without this Test being ordered she can be PTS at any time after her Available date. A FOSTER or Adopter would save her. Thanks!

#A5036102 My name is ANGEL and I’m an approximately 10 year old female Pit Bull. I am already spayed. I have been at the Carson Animal Care Center since 2/24. I will be available on 2/24. You can visit me at my temporary home at C412.
My former family who owned me for had to give me up because they were moving.

Charity Mews: Kitten Rescued After Being Found Trapped in a Tyre Shop

Katzenworld

Hi everyone,

Today we are back with some more insights on the hard work of The Mayhew Animal Home.

Thanks to their efforts many pets were looked after in this cold (and dangerous time for vulnerable animals) of the year.

Kitten Rescued After Being Found Trapped in a Tyre Shop

A six-month-old stray kitten was rescued by The Mayhew Animal Home after she was found trapped in a tyre shop.

The black and white kitten, named Frannie, was discovered hiding in a few of the tyres by the owner of the shop in Brent, after he returned from holiday over Christmas. Poor Frannie was very filthy, completely covered in dirt from where she had been sitting in the tyres and appeared to be weak and fragile.

The shop owner attempted to approach and catch Frannie, however she was so frightened that she kept running away and would not let him get…

Mister Puddycat goes to America

Katzenworld

Hi everyone,

Today’s guest post comes fromMike James:

Mister Puddycat goes to America

If you’re moving from the UK to the USA and you want to take your cat, no problem. The United States are happy for owners to bring pets into the country as long as they fulfil certain conditions.

Unsurprisingly, there’s quite a lot involved in getting your fluffy four legged friend from here to the other side of the pond, and it makes a lot of sense to let a professional logistics company to handle all the arrangements for you.

But just so you know exactly what’s in store for Peter Purrfect’s transatlantic adventure, here are the 8 steps you need to follow, as advised by parcel and precious cargo broker Rand Logistics:

  1. Select your airline

Unlike booking a flight for yourself or fellow human, animal transportation is nowhere near as straightforward. Once you’ve identified which…
