Wesley the one-eyed pirate kitty, with an adorably toothy perma-grin, spent the first 6 months of his life in a shelter. Every day, he waited for his forever human to show up. And, every day, people passed him by—unable to see his true inner beauty. Fortunately, someone did. They first met him a couple of days after he was brought to the shelter. She couldn’t afford him then. Six months later, when she was, again, visiting the shelter, she saw that he was still there. This time, she was able to adopt him & they’re both very grateful for that. My husband & I had two sight impaired kitties (one’s eyes didn’t fully extend & the other had an eye removed). They both got along fine in their life & were wonderful companions to us. I have a special place in my heart for challenged animals & for the people who take them in.
